The Lexington Barbecue Festival Pictorial Postmark is celebrating the Lexington Barbecue Festival 35th Anniversary today, it is available for requesting by mail for the next 30 days. There is a special reason I’m so excited to see this Pictorial Postmark which I’ll share at the end of my post.

I’m seeing the U.S. Post Office, Lexington listing under Acknowledgments on page 23 of the 24-page 2018 Barbecue Festival brochure online. (Note – I  am thinking  if wanting to get in person today then stop by the Lexington Post Office this morning for getting the Pictorial Postmark; am not seeing it mentioned in the brochure,  my apologies if I’m missing it.)

In case you are wondering where Lexington, NC is located. From the History page of the brochure: 

“Lexington is located in the Piedmont, just 20 miles south of Winston-Salem at the intersection of US 29/70 and US 52. Lexington is also accessible off of Business and Interstate 85 between Greensboro and Charlotte.”

In conclusion, writing today’s post has been a lot of fun. The reason I’m so happy to see this Pictorial Postmark is I’m recalling many wonderful family celebrations in Lexington, NC when my husband’s parents were living there, before retiring.  It is a beautiful town. The driving distance is around 236 miles away from Wilmington, NC.
