2005 Lewis and Clark Commemorative Cover First Vote Allowed to All

Today has included finding me ordering this 2005 Lewis and Clark Commemorative Cover First Vote Allowed to All Fleetwood. In addition, today is AnchoredScraps daily blog post #1,350!

2005 Lewis and Clark Commemorative Cover First Vote Allowed to All

With today being the U.S. 2018 midterm elections, the cover message of this envelope cover caught my attention. It reads “First Vote Allowed For All”.  In addition, it appears to contain the 2004 Lewis & Clark Bicentennial U.S. stamp.

Seeing the several different commemorative covers with Lewis and Clark at The Mystic Stamp Company was really a treasure trove for exploring.

Furthermore, at Frances Hunter’s American Heroes Blog, there is an excellent article on Lewis and Clark on U.S. Postage Stamps. The 2011 article begins with: “The Lewis and Clark expedition is somewhat underrepresented in U.S. philately. The expedition has been the subject of U.S. stamps twice.”

In conclusion, I’m looking forward to receiving this in the mail from Mystic Stamp Company and getting more information on the cover. My plans are to scan it and add an addendum to this post with my image of it with better resolution. Thank you for joining me today.  It continues to be a delight to be here daily and encouraging old-style correspondence letter writing!  Looking ahead, Friday, April 5, 2019, will be #1,500!
