The first day of May usually brings to mind hearing the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Camelot (1960) with Julie Andrews as Guenevere, singing
“Tra la! It’s May! The lusty month of May! That lovely month when ev’ryone goes Blissfully astray….”
Other songs I’m going to have to hear: her and Richard Burton as Arthur sing “What Do the Simple Folk Do?”; then Robert Goulet “If Ever I Would Leave You”; and end my visit with the Richard Burton Finale of “Camelot Reprise”. This recording is so clear and enjoyable transporting me back in time to a live event I never attended.

We recognize service to others in the month of May:
The month of May includes Mother’s Day on May 10; National Nurses Week May 06-12; and May 17-23 is National EMS Emergency Medical Services Week. On Memorial Day May 25 we will honor our military who have died for our country and those who are still serving us on Armed Forces Day on May 16.
There is time this weekend
Plan to get to the post office tomorrow morning and give yourself PLENTY of time to get a Mother’s Day card into the mail to your Mom and/or someone who you adore and has been like your Mom to you!
Here’s to a great month of May! Tra la la la la..
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
