The Little Mo USPS Forever Stamp Honors 1950s Tennis Champ Maureen Connolly Brinker.
While stopping by my Post Office today, I was able to pick up a sheet of them. The First Day of Issue (FDOI) Stamp Ceremony was yesterday in Dallas at SMU.
“In the early 1950s, the 5-foot-4-inch dynamo dominated her sport. Nicknamed “Little Mo,” she used powerful groundstrokes to become the first woman to win all four major tennis tournaments in a calendar year.”
The sheet of 20 First-Class Forever stamps, at 55 cents each, is $11.00. It is also available online at the USPS Postal Store #LittleMo.
I’m including this link to the First Day of Issue Stamp Ceremony from yesterday.
