Today’s blog post is on the Dreaming of Canada A Mail Art Project, #AGSAgotMail, one of many projects celebrating the 150th birthday milestone this year for Canada!
Earlier this week on Monday it was a delight to receive an email from an AnchoredScraps blog reader, Kathy. She recently discovered the Dreaming of Canada A Mail Art Project; this was while visiting the St. Albert Art Gallery in Alberta Canada. The timing is perfect especially since Tuesday evening at the Wilmington Philatelic Society there were stamp magazines celebrating Canada 150 Years. Thank you to fellow Stamp club buddy Bruce for bringing these to share. Stay tuned for even more blog posts on Canada Celebrating 150 Years with a letter writing themed aspect!

The Dreaming of Canada A Mail Art Project, #AGSAgotMail, has put out a call for mail art postcards or envelopes; there are plans for September to show selected works at the Gallery.
“No fee, no jury, no returns!
Deadline for submission: Tuesday, August 22, 2017″
On the site, we can see the locations from where the art cards were sent. They have already begun showing online with their Mail Art Gallery some of the items they have begun receiving.
“Share your aspirations and hopes, contemplate Canada’s future or delve into your subconscious and create something fantastic!
The postal system is the integral part of the mail art medium. Craft a postcard, an artistic letter, and/or art-envelope. Experiment and be creative!”To view the full details along with mailing address click here.
Thank you, Kathy, for making the time to share your discovery! And thank you to Bruce for sharing the stamp magazines.
Happy Thursday! Join me tomorrow for my Friday blog post. In the meantime, THERE IS TIME to participate!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
P.S. The PDF button is included for My Mom, & you are welcome to use too – to select and print out. She likes to be able to print my blog post and read it as part of her morning routine. Time to go brew a nice pot of hot tea!
