Today’s blog is a delight to share about the Pilot Pen Partnership Operation Gratitude going on through Veteran’s Day 2017. The idea comes to us with sincere thanks from recent AnchoredScraps.com email blog subscriber Kari who sent me earlier this week the Press Release using the Contact Form.
We get to combine letter writing with sending Thank You notes honoring “…U.S. Service Members through Partnership with Operation Gratitude”.
If you are new to my blog you may have missed previous blog posts here that included Operation Gratitude. In my daily blog post entitled “National Volunteer Week 2016” it shared this sentiment from their website:
“Our troops tell us the most cherished items in the packages are the personal letters of appreciation.”
In addition, as we read in the Press Release that Kari shared this is part of the Red, Write and Blue Initiative, #PowerToThePen.
Pilot Pen Partnership Operation Gratitude 2017 Thank You Letter Initiative
PILOT PEN HONORS U.S. SERVICE MEMBERS THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH OPERATION GRATITUDE
Partnering for a Second Year, the Writing Instrument Company Increases Pen Donation and Promotes Red, Write and Blue Thank You Letter Initiative, through Veteran’s Day
“JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 26, 2017) – As the United States remembers those who have made the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day, Pilot Corporation of America (Pilot
Pen) and Operation Gratitude – a national organization that assembles and distributes personalized care packages to service members and veterans – have joined forces for
a second year to acknowledge and thank those individuals who work tirelessly to protect our freedom every day through the Red, Write and Blue Initiative.” … “Those interested in participating can visit PowertothePen.com/Gratitude to download thank you letter stationery and to learn more about the initiative.”
Red Write & Blue Donor Form
Furthermore, in looking at the calendar Veteran’s Day 2017 is 99 days away until November 11th – which is how much longer this Initiative is running.
One of the things I love most about reading on the powertothepen Donor-Form.pdf is seeing these items listed among what is being encouraged to send:
Number of Letters for Deployed Troops _________ Number of Letters for Wounded Heroes: _________
Number of Letters for Veterans: ________ Number of Letters for New Recruits: _______
(Please sort Troop, New Recruits, WH & VET in separate envelopes, clearly labeled on outside)
In conclusion, my thanks again to Kari. It is such a fantastic idea and definitely one I’m adding to my list to participate. I’m hoping you will consider participating in this too! If you do and want to use the Contact Form to keep me posted that would be great!
Join me tomorrow for my Saturday blog post. In the meantime, here’s to a doing a little letter writing planning ahead and participating in this event!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
P.S. Call to Action today – Be sure to print off the thank you letter stationery mentioned above!
