This paperback of Van Gogh’s Letters looks worth checking my local library to see if available. In addition, it may possibly be one for adding to my bookcase collection of letter writing books.
In looking at this recap at Goodreads from a few years ago we read about the paperback of “Van Gogh’s Letters: The Mind of the Artist in Paintings, Drawings, and Words”
“… Vincent Van Gogh wrote hundreds of letters to his brother Theo as well as to family members and fellow artists including Paul Gauguin and Emile Bernard. In many of them he described, in painstaking detail and beautiful prose, the progress of his work. Van Gogh’s Letters presents more than 150 of these stirring letters, excerpted and newly translated, and set side-by-side with the art it describes, including sketches, drawings, and paintings…
Previously published in hardcover as Vincent van Gogh: A Self-Portrait in Art and Letters”
As we wrap up today, I’m referring us back to my AnchoredScraps post, Starry Starry Sky Envelopes Spoon & Tamago from January 14, 2017.
“You may have found yourself humming the Don McLean song “Vincent” (Starry, Starry Night) with reading today’s daily blog post topic. I’ve included this from YouTube of him performing from 1972.”
Given at some point, we keep a running wish list of books for gifts so when asked are ready to answer, today’s post may find us adding this one for consideration for including on said list!
