This morning I’m showing Cooper this image of the Military Working Dogs Forever stamps coming out later this year in booklet format!
In addition, we have two other adjacent items we are covering. One, seeing these stamps brings to mind the block of four dog stamps of the “1984 commemorative stamps celebrating the American Kennel Club” 100th Anniversary. Two, we wrap up with a personal aside with Cooper, as I know he will be recognizing one of the breeds of the four dogs the new stamps are showcasing, with sharing a link of our dog trainer at Pawville with his dog!
Before beginning THANK YOU to my Pen Pals for participating in InCoWriMo and including me! I’m loving your names are already on my list I’m letter writing to this month!
Furthermore, my thanks to Ellen, one of my three muses here at AnchoredScraps for telling me about the Military Working Dogs Forever stamp!
Military Working Dogs Forever stamp 2019
In the USPS reveals additional stamps for 2019 Press Release last week, it is announcing … five additional subjects to the 2019 Stamp Program” including these stamps!
“The Postal Service honors the nation’s brave and loyal military working dogs with this new booklet of 20 stamps. Each block of four stamps features one stamp of each of the following breeds — German shepherd, Labrador retriever, Belgian Malinois and Dutch shepherd — that commonly serve in America’s armed forces. The background of each stamp features a detail of a white star. A star appears in the center of each block. The stylized digital illustrations are in red, white, blue and gold to represent the American flag and patriotism…”
As far as WHEN I’m quoting: “More details on dates and locations for the first-day-of-issue ceremonies are coming.”
American Kennel Club 1984 Commemorative USPS
From my October 14, 2017 blog post – stamps to “… commemorate the 100th anniversary of the American Kennel Club”. My local stamp club buddy Jimmy was able to help me with securing them.
These are great stamps for having on hand to help enhance special dog letter writing occasions. And they are very special for using on solemn occasions when sending rainbow bridge condolence notes.
Cooper’s Dog Trainer
Our dog trainer is a retired kennel master from the military with the most amazing dog which I’m sharing this link to Pawville Dog Training YouTube of them! And yes, I say “our” dog trainer, as he trains both Cooper, and I know there is some training in there going on for me too!
In conclusion, I’m really looking forward to the arrival of these new stamps in 2019.
Happy Thursday – Here’s to our keeping up the daily letter writing this month!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
