You will want to see the upcoming Songbirds in Snow Forever stamps debuting in August. It was just two days ago and I’m still hearing the sounds of birds from Sunday’s blog post here on Sibley Backyard Birding Postcards.
On August 04 the U.S. Postal Service will debut in Portland, Oregon the new Songbirds in Snow stamps.
The new stamps are already available for Pre-order at the USPS online store.
They will “issue the Songbirds in Snow stamps (Forever® priced at 47 cents) in four designs, in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) double-sided booklet of 20 stamps (Item 681100).
Each of these four new stamps celebrates a different songbird that brightens cold winter days. The birds featured in the stamp art are the golden-crowned kinglet, the cedar waxwing, the northern cardinal, and the red-breasted nuthatch…” <- End of excerpt
The July 21 USPS Postal Bulletin has the details on the First-Day-of-Issue Postmark, How to Order First-Day Covers, and list of ten philatelic products for this stamp issue.
I’m going to close out today’s blog post with this quote on songbirds.
“Instead of weeping when a tragedy occurs in a songbird’s life, it sings away its grief. I believe we could well follow the pattern of our feathered friends.”
