Coming up on October 13, 2017, the USPS will be debuting the National Museum of African American History and Culture Forever Stamp.

Although I have not seen this new date in the USPS Postal Bulletin yet, there is posted information by the USPS on it. Earlier this week, on September 26 there was both a Tweet and a link to referencing an article in a USPS National News article, it is a Press Release announcing it will be issuing it on October 13, 2017.

Here is the article U.S. Postal Service Honors the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Forever Stamp On Sale Oct. 13.  It also provides details to R.S.V.P to attend the dedication ceremony.

“This stamp will be on sale at the ceremony and available nationwide on Friday, Oct. 13.”

How time flies from when first hearing about this stamp! It was a little over a year ago, on September 21, 2016, my daily blog post on “2017 US Postal Service Previews Select Stamps” included the mention of this Forever stamp planned for 2017 Celebrating African American History and Culture.

The Postal Bulletin first announcing the stamp release date was on August 3, 2017, for release on September 24. In Postal Bulletin on September 14, 2017, we read the postponing of the stamp until a later date. Thank you to my stamp club buddy Jimmy with the Wilmington Philatelic Society for helping me with the previous Postal Bulletin dates.

In conclusion, I’m pre-ordering these stamps for adding to my collection of stamps for use with my letter writing.
