As we go into the weekend, for today’s blog post on AnchoredScraps.com the sentiment is short and sweet: “Get Well Soon!”
The past few days I have become aware of dear friends (who are also email subscribers to this blog and they do not know each other) share with me they are making trips to the hospital to be with a dear family member and/or friend. It has been where out of no where things have changed and someone they care deeply about is having to go in for observation and in some cases surgery.
One texted me and shared that to take their minds off things each day they had been reading my blog and enjoyed the blog post earlier this week “When letters go unanswered (& suggested solution)”.
At the Poetry Foundation website the poem “Sneezles” by A. A. Milne – is posted with the delightful poem about “Christopher Robin Had wheezles And sneezles …”
This link will take you to their page of Get Well Soon Poems. (On Twitter @PoetryFound)
At the Goodreads/quotes site (On Twitter @goodreads) there was this poem:
“The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they’ll ease
Your will they’ll mend
And charge you not a shilling.”
— Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows, 1990”
Sending Get Well wishes to each of you along with prayers for a speedy recovery. I hope this weekend finds for each of us time to get a Get Well Wish out into the mail for any of our family and friends that can use an encouraging word.
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
