Good morning! Welcome to Wednesday – today is the first day of fall, September 23, 2015.
Also known as the September or autumnal equinox. It is “when the sun lines up directly above the Earth’s equator, resulting in almost every place on Earth experiencing approximately 12 hours of daylight and darkness, with some caveats.”
Their is a new Google Doodle, today. with a squirrel hiding behind autumn squashes placed to resemble the Google logo.
“There is a harmony in autumn, and a lustre in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!” -Percy Bysshe Shelley
This morning the weather is more crisp and anticipate an extra layer, a jacket, while out walking Cuddy. The local grocery store has already had pumpkins out on display with mums about to burst into bloom. If you had thought about getting out one weekend in September or early October to see the leaves changing colors (based on your locale) you could take a few minutes this week to write those wishes down into your calendar converting them into specific plans. There could even be talk of “that” fall camping weekend trip actually happening.
Today being the first day of fall will definitely be mentioned in a Thank You note I’m writing and sending off in today’s mail. Wishing you a great fall day!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
