This morning I find myself up very early getting ready for participating in our community Garage Sale and with it the inspiration for today’s blog title of Garage Sale Saturday Letters.
Usually my view of our community garage sale has been the quest that somewhere among all the boxes in drive-ways will be an old box with stamps, and/or faded correspondence.
Today is different in that the day will begin with my actually having a table set up with some items to sell since we have been decluttering the garage.

In reading up on garage sales one of the articles I came across was reading a 2013 article -“U.S. Postal Service Opens Store on eBay; Rare Philatelic Items from Postmaster General’s Collection to be Auctioned”. Items included “20th Anniversary of Moon Landing Priority Mail stamp proof (stamp issued in 1989). One of only three quality control samples created prior to printing 35 million stamps.”
One article at Investopedia shared “6 Things You Shouldn’t Sell At A Garage Sale” and listed: Currency, Sports Memorabilia, Comic Books, Stamps, Music, and Family Heirlooms.
This YouTube begins with the image of a postcard as part of the title of How to have a fun garage sale.
In recalling the last garage sale it meant an early morning out walking with Cuddy and us making the rounds visiting with neighbors and being delighted to find some hat boxes, and beautiful hand embroidered pillow cases between the intermittent rain.
Here’s to hoping for a clear weather forecast. If your plans find you out and about kicking off the Spring Garage Sale Season be sure to have plenty of small bills with you!

Helen
