Sending Get Well Soon Packages is our blog post on this Thursday. In the midst of Spring I’m seeing the importance of being mindful of others who would benefit from receiving their own Get Well Soon Package.
I’ve included some suggestions of what to send and some suggestions over at the Lotsa Helping Hands web site.
Sending Get Well Soon Packages
Just yesterday I learned that a dear friend is under the weather, just like that!, and my thoughts raced ahead that in addition to sending a Get Well Soon Card – sending a package would be fun and encouraging. I’m recalling a recent email from a volunteer group requesting Get Well Cards to be sent to a couple who were staying in town longer than planned due to their situation.
In thinking about Sending Get Well Soon Packages this can be more of an opportunity for combining being frugal with being creative with some fun things to send. It could probably be accomplished without even a trip to the dollar store by just really looking around at what you have on hand. Don’t underestimate how wonderful tucking in some little notes into the package would be welcomed – like “open me on day one”, “open me on day two”, etc, and inside ask “did you wait for day two to open me?” and have some fun with it.
If you are wanting to include a trip to the dollar store some items that come to mind include a mug, a small box of tea for the mug, something sweet, and think of what you would like to receive. And then – BE SURE TO MAIL IT!
“9 Care Package Ideas to Make Anyone’s Day”
It was a delight to come across the Lotsa Helping Hands website. Their article on Care Packages includes questions to ask yourself of things to keep in mind to help personalize the package you are going to send.
Included in the article are details with each of these 9 items: 1. Fight Boredom, 2. Bring Home to the Hospital; 3. Pamper with a Spa Treatment; 4. Stay Practical; 5. Consider a Gift Card; 6. Create a Care Package for Other Visitors; 7. Bring Tastes of Home; 8. Embrace Sports Revelry and Competitive Spirit; and 9. Give the Gift of Laughter.
This week I received a fantastic package in the mail from my Mom which included some of Dad’s books and one of the “Chicken Soup” books for Dog Lovers. Given my dear friend referenced above lives in Ohio and is a email blog subscriber here I am not going to include a spoiler of what I have sent! But I do extend this message to her here: Get Well Soon!
Join me tomorrow for my Friday blog post which will be green-themed for Earth Day!
