Happy Friday as we take a quick look at the 1987 Fathers Day Envelope Cachets with the “Love You, Dad!” US Stamp.
In my blog post last year going into Father’s Day weekend it featured the 1987 22¢ Love You, Dad! US Stamp issued on April 20, 1987. From my blog post – ” It was part of the Special Occasions Issue (on Twitter @ and contained ten stamps with messages of Congratulations, Get Well, Thank You, ‘Love You, Dad’, Best Wishes, Happy Birthday, ‘Love You, Mother’, and Keep In Touch.”
It is fun to see these First Day of Issue Envelope Cachets with that stamp. You will notice the date stamp on both envelope cachets shown today have the same First Day of Issue date – April 20, 1987 as the stamp. “The US Postal Service issued a Special Occasions stamp booklet in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 20, 1987.”
There is this “Silk First Day Cover”.
This is the “Fleetwood First Day Cover” shown (same image as above upper left).
This Sunday is Father’s Day and this weekend finds me recalling to myself already some of the ‘best of Dad stories’ he would tell with great enthusiasm. I’ve already got one of Dad’s infamous (in our family at least) stories in mind to share in my Father’s Day blog post this Sunday. Here’s to wishing you a few minutes of peaceful, happy, and reflective time this weekend remembering our Father’s. In the meantime, join me tomorrow for my Saturday blog post.
