Discovering Pantone Postcard Book
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

How perfect the timing is to be discovering the Pantone Postcard Book. Recently, I’ve been picking up paint chip samples at a big box hardware store as I look at creative stationery options. It was the inspiration for my post today on the Pantone Postcard Book and we’ll be looking at the Pantone site too.

“With a palette drawn from the systems of Pantone, each postcard in this set of 100 offers a different bold hue to brighten up the mail.”

To begin with, Chronicle Books is the publisher for the Pantone Postcard Book which is showing a 2011 publish date. It has 100 pages.

Next, the Product Dimensions is showing 4.5 x 3.2 x 6.5 inches, which must be for the box. I would think the postcards are smaller so will fit within maximum postcard size 4-1/4 inches high x 6 inches long for postcard stamp. The pricing for the entire set is less than $17.00!

Think of it – being able to send a postcard one color chip at a time!

“… In 1963, Lawrence Herbert, Pantone’s founder, created the Pantone Matching System, a book of standardized colour in fan format-an innovative system for identifying, matching and communicating colours to solve the problems associated with producing accurate colour matches in the graphic arts community…”

In addition, you’ll note when looking at the Pantone website, color swatch samples have really grown with vast offerings now. Don’t miss checking out the Pantone Studio for iOS App. I’m including this screen shot of their Featured Products below. Furthermore, while there you’ll discover Fashion Color Trend Report: New York Spring 2018. And there is the Pantone Color of the Year 2018 which is Ultra Violet 18-3838.

In conclusion, it is fun to share today is daily blog post #1,175. Join me tomorrow for my Wednesday blog post which will find us exactly half-way through 2Q 2018. In the meantime, have fun exploring the many colorful options with Pantone!
