60 POSTCARDS Rachael Chadwick book

Two weeks ago I mentioned I had been reading the 60 POSTCARDS Rachael Chadwick book.  I’m delighted to have finished reading it and recommend it!

It is a wonderful tribute the author did in memory of losing her mother unexpectedly.  She and her close friends made a trip to Paris on what would have been her mother’s 60th birthday. While in Paris she leaves 60 postcards scattered around the city with the same handwritten message. It requests each recipient to please email her along with details of what they were doing when finding their respective postcard, sharing she will be making entries to her newly created 60 Postcards website.

“The heartfelt and uplifting story of how a project to scatter 60 Postcards in memory of her mother helped a young girl come to terms with her loss. On 11 February 2012 Rachael Chadwick lost her Mother to cancer, just sixteen days after first being diagnosed, and her world shattered right in front of her. Utterly fed up of the milestones and reminders, in December of that year she decided she would do something different and created a project based around her Mum’s approaching 60th Birthday… Rachael had the brainwave of leaving notes around a city in her memory… Full of hope and energy she hand-wrote sixty postcards, each with her email address at the bottom asking the finder to get in touch…”

If you are wanting to enjoy curling up with a book and have a ‘good read’ get the hardback as you’ll want to have this one as a keeper on your bookshelf!

You will find yourself finding snippets of time to stay glued to the story.  The hardback was published in February 2014, and Paperback in February 2015. I was able to locate a hardback on Amazon.com used (in excellent condition) and with shipping was $4.00. This is a great book to include in a Little Free Library. I’m going to be writing one of my new penpals who runs her local Little Free Library their including process.

Having created this daily blog encouraging letter writing shortly after losing my Dad over two years ago, I would nod my head while reading some of her stories; i.e. the feeling of accomplishment of keeping their memory still present. Be sure to check out this book!

This morning we awoke to a blanket of snow and it has been a lazy snowy Sunday; it found our puppy Cooper enjoying his first trek through a little snow!

Join me tomorrow as we kick-off a new week here at AnchoredScraps.com! Stay Warm!
