It is early Sunday morning and I’m writing this Thank you WordCamp Wilmington 2017 as my blog post topic. Before the rush of the day is upon us, I’m pausing to say Thank you!
Today we wrap-up the sold-out weekend event! What has today’s blog topic got to do with writing a daily blog encouraging letter writing? Everything!
I’m using technology to connect with other letter writing enthusiasts and kindred spirits who enjoy old-style correspondence. My site uses the WordPress Content Management System, with my hosting at GoDaddy with a Shared Hosting Plan. The WordCamp events are a great way to network with others using WordPress.
“WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.”
If you blog, or have an interest in learning to blog you will want to consider learning more about WordPress which WordCamp Central has the latest.
Thank you WordCamp Wilmington 2017
This next week I will be letter writing several thank you notes. There will be “it was great meeting you” letters too.
For today, I’m especially wanting to thank the participants who made their calendars available to be here for the two-day event! The esprit de corps for being in the present is exciting with embracing the new location given our doubling in size from last year. Photos are continuing to be posted to Twitter for WordCamp Wilmington, I’m including one above.
Thank you so much to the WordCamp Wilmington 2017 Speakers and their families for sharing them this weekend! The presentations have been wonderful and insightful! In giving thanks, I would be remiss to not especially thank our Volunteers and Sponsors!
And finally, my sincere thank you to Derek Schmidt, Peter La Fond, Jeanne Casper, and Lauren Jeffcoat for enthusiastically embracing my joining the Organizing team this year. Derek and Peter have been the co-chairs for both our first WordCamp Wilmington 2016 and 2017 being our second year! Here’s a photo of us from the Speaker Dinner.
Plan now to make time to be involved in your local WordCamp this next year!
See you in class later this morning, including the reveal of the other side of my Postcards that I will be giving out at class!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
