Masquerade Phantom of the Opera Card

The Masquerade Phantom of the Opera Card is inside my mind – and this blog post! Earlier today it was a wonderful treat to see live the Wilmington City Ballet’s “Phantom of the Opera” with my nephew! And many attending were wearing masquerade themed masks!

Image AmericanTowns.com October 30, 2022 Wilmington, NC: “City Ballet’s “Phantom of the Opera” is based on the famous novel – and is a Beauty and the Beast story (slightly darker) … “The performance will be a Masquerade event – so the audience can enjoy dressing up with decorative masks, gloves, capes, etc. Join us for some red carpet fun, and to experience one of the most riveting story ballets.”

City Ballet’s “Phantom of the Opera”

We had fantastic seating in the orchestra just 10 rows back and could see everything! The performances were wonderful and I really enjoyed seeing it. On a side note, this was based on the original 1910 French novel. This means it was prior to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1986 Musical so there were none of his songs we know by heart in the performance today. The music they did use was great!    It was especially wonderful seeing the ballet together as my nephews guest! With Halloween being tomorrow it was especially fun to see so many in the audience wearing masquerade masks.

In the Star News this weekend I thought John Staton’s description was perfect!

“Just in time for Halloween, Wilmington’s City Ballet presents this full-length dance work based on the novel by Gaston Leroux about a mysterious, masked figure lurking in the shadows of a Parisian opera house. Features a mix of ballet, modern dance and other styles.”

Masquerade Phantom of the Opera Card

Across the pond there is an Etsy shop in the UK, McRtyCards, creating this Masquerade Phantom of the Opera Card.

“Black card mount edged in gold ink. Die cut candelabra decal “antiqued” with pastel chalk. Die cut hearts and musical notes from upcycled paper. The mask is cut from ultra white, smooth vintage card to try to give the look and feel of fine porcelain. The rose is die cut from recycled card and hand painted with acrylics.”

In closing, again my sincere thanks to my nephew Wesley for being his guest today! Here’s to a boo-ti-ful Halloween greetings tomorrow for everyone! See you back here next Sunday.

Anchors Aweigh,

Helen
