Fountain Pen Day 2022

Fountain Pen Day 2022 is Today, November 4th! It is now celebrating its 11th year!  Happy Friday morning as we find me posting a few days earlier than my usual weekly Sunday timeframe.

If you are like me and not prone to reach for your fountain pen first when writing a letter – today makes a great reason to use one and participate in this global event!

I’m sending a ‘hope you get feeling better shout out to a dear friend (& pen pal). And at the end of today’s post I’m including a shout-out to several AnchoredScraps Pen Pals who are celebrating big milestones – including yours truly!

As a reminder, this Sunday, November 6 Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 am. It means clocks being set back an hour. I’m still figuring out if this is the last time we will be doing this given the Sunshine Protection Act to permanently extend daylight savings time from eight months to full 12 months. (I am including a link at the end of the post which I found really informative).

On Celebrating Fountain Pen Day 2022 Today

It takes place on the first Friday each November.

“Fountain Pen Day – TAKING PLACE ON THE FIRST FRIDAY IN NOVEMBER EACH YEAR, FOUNTAIN PEN DAY IS CELEBRATED BY ENTHUSIASTS WORLDWIDE AS A TIME TO EMBRACE, PROMOTE, AND SHARE THE USE OF FOUNTAIN PENS.”

SWAG & Helpful Links for Fountain Pen Day 2022

First of all, this year I’m seeing on the Fountain Pen Days website they have SWAG available for ordering! I have already placed an order for their 2022 Swag Pack mini for $4 (with shipping of $2) – it was a total of $6 and I was able to use PayPal.

Next, there are several really helpful pages at the website and for ease of reference I’m listing in bullet form below.

  • TWO SWAG PACKS!!  There is the Fountain Pen Day 2022 Swag Pack for $10 “… comes in a pillow pack envelope. 2 buttons, 4 bookmarks and 2 stickers.” On this one it is stating only shipping within U.S. at this time.
Next, with the Mini “… pack comes in a regular envelope, 4 bookmarks and 3 stickers.”
  • At the Sponsors page it lists the Vendors, and below it is a listing of sales and events with links (which looks like its updated on an ongoing basis).
  • In addition, there is a page listing Blogs and YouTube Channels focusing on fountain pens.

Here’s several shout-outs to some AnchoredScraps Pen Pals celebrating Milestones!

Congratulations to Kathy who is enroute to Europe for her big trip with long time friend traveling. Cannot wait to see some postcard(s)! While I know she cannot travel with her typewriter on the trip, I could not resist showing one!

This week found Eddie retiring and I’m so excited for him! Congratulations Eddie – so excited you’ll be able to have more time for bird watching!

Today Deb is celebrating her 70th Birthday and I am in awe of her fitness level! Here’s to summer swim buddy Deb, (and  anamazing stained glass artist!) 1987 22c Happy Birthday!  U.S. #2272 Stamp; for Celebrating May 10 BirthDAYS post

And on a personal note, this Monday, my husband Brad & I are celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary! For our long time blog readers here, yes, it really was five years ago when we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and it was right before celebrating writing my 1000th daily blog post here – as I was posting daily from the cruise ship that week!

Thank you for joining me today and continuing to be on the blog journey together with me. Before closing, next Friday November 11, 2022 is Veterans Day. I know several of you are volunteers with special events that day!   Here’s to a great week ahead! See you back here next Sunday!

Anchors Aweigh,

Helen
