Today with it being Sunday we have the opportunity to take advantage of a slower-paced day from the work week. No matter the weather outside decide to take less than an hour today to jot down a few words and mail them in a letter to a family member or close friend.
On the right side is a photo of a handwritten note I wrote to you (the AnchoredScraps.com blog reader) today using one of my fountain pens. For some reason the aqua ink has smeared all over my right hand but it’s not coming off on my laptop keyboard. I will have to figure out why it does this sometimes.
Here are some quotes in praise of writing letters:
“Letter writing is the only device for combining solitude with good company.” ~Lord Byron
“Or don’t you like to write letters. I do because it’s such a swell way to keep from working and yet feel you’ve done something.” ~Ernest Hemingway
“What a lot we lost when we stopped writing letters. You can’t reread a phone call.” ~Liz Carpenter
And yes, if you want to put your hands to keyboard and opt for digital instead, this quote supports that: “The age of technology has both revived the use of writing and provided ever more reasons for its spiritual solace. Emails are letters, after all, more lasting than phone calls, even if many of them r 2 cursory 4 u.” ~Anna Quindlen
This quote left me inspired and hope it will do the same for you too: “Letters are among the most significant memorial a person can leave behind them.”~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
As I wrote in my hand written note as shown on this page “Let today be the day pen meets paper.” Enjoy!
