Today we continue where we left off with Shoe Box Stamps.
Our theme this week Focus on Stamps continues. We had covered my first club meeting this week with the local American Philatelic Society club. I shared that I was sent home with several magazines, a book, and a few other items and today here are some details! And now those details!
The American Philatelist
The first thing that caught my eye was I was sent home with the Feb, March, and April 2015 issues of The American Philatelist magazine (photo right). In looking at their web site it’s described as “… the oldest continuously published philatelic journal in the world, the first issue having appeared in January 1887. All of our articles are written by our members and feature colorful illustrations.” It has been very enjoyable reading the issues.
STATESMAN Deluxe Album
The next item to come home with me was a STATESMAN Deluxe Album – it is different from a scrapbooking album! It came with some stamps already in it too!
Mystic’s U.S. Stamp Catalog
This appears to have everything including the kitchen sink as the expression goes for Stamp Collecting supplies. The catalog is free and you can order one too. Their site is showing the Mystic’s 2015-16 U.S. Stamp Catalog here. Obviously the photo on the right is not the current catalog (it is 2014) but pretty close and how nice to be able to have something to look through while I wait for the new one I’ve ordered to arrive! The Timing was perfect for attending this month’s meeting. Thank you to my local stamp club for being so welcoming to this newbie. It is exciting getting acquainted with this new hobby!
Consider checking out a local Stamp Club near where you live too. Take Action. Don’t just think about it!
