Forever® Forget-Me-Not stamp debuts today

Welcome to the new week at AnchoredScraps.com.      If you get the opportunity to swing by the U.S. Post Office today you should be able to pick up the new Forever (49¢) Forget-Me-Not stamp (Help find missing children) – it is being released today, May 18, 2015.

The Forget-Me-Not stamp is being sold in self-adhesive sheets of 20.   The stamp features forget-me-nots, the symbol for International Missing Children’s Day, it is a small bunch of purple flowers on the left and a lone flower farther to the right along with the words “Forget-Me-Not” at the top.

The stamp is for raising public awareness of the ways “they can assist – and to offer hope to the families of missing children as they continue their search. … In addition, the U.S. Postal Service publishes photos and information about missing children in the Postal Bulletin, which adds some 700,000 employees to the search effort.”

Thank you to the U.S. Post Office for raising public awareness with the issuing of the new Forget-Me-Not stamp.

This is the link to their full press release which gave some encouraging statistics:  May 18 – Forever (49¢) Forget-Me-Not (Help find missing children).  (On Twitter @USPSstamps  #ForgetMeNot)

And this is the link to Missing Children First Day Cover  which has the envelope with the  Missing Children Forever stamp cancelled with official First Day of Issue postmark – these you would order online.

If the title of the stamp sounds a little familiar, it is – back on May 09 my blog post on the “Special Olympics commemorative forever stamp debuts today” it included me listing the stamps for release in May.

Retired Creative Memories 7″ x 7″ Triumph scrapbook album “Forget-Me-Not” supporting Alzheimer’s Association.

The forget-me-not is a popular flower.   Years ago Creative Memories had their special Triumph Album,  7″ x 7″ purple scrapbook album.  It was called Forget Me Not and it was to support the Alzheimer’s Association.  “For memories like wildflowers grow … Forget me not.”  I’m sure several of my email subscribers to this blog already have this album in their stash of scrapbooking supplies.   In doing a quick search on ebay there are some still listed for sale reasonably priced.

In looking at my list of birthdays for later this month, I have a birthday card to get into the mail today so I will be sure to use the new stamp.
