Hello December !

Welcome to the month of December 2015!

Today the Christmas wreath went up onto the front door along with the candlestick lights in the windows signaling the new month!

Recently at Costco I saw these Gingerbread Houses stamps (2013) for sale – but note to self – they sell them in sets of FIVE books of 20 and I did not need 100 of them!  I’m glad to see them available online at the USPS website.

This is going to be a very busy month here on AnchoredScraps.com to get in all of the planned topics here before reaching #300 which will be on December 22nd – which is the date for the Winter Solstice (Northern) “marking the shortest day of the year as the Northern Hemisphere is angled the farthest away from the Sun on this day.”

Here are some quotes to welcome in the month:

“God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.” – James M. Barrie

“In cold December fragrant chaplets blow, And heavy harvests nod beneath the snow.” – Alexander Pope

“How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?
-Dr. Seuss

Today also found our Hallmark Advent Calendar from 2005 ‘Christmas At Last’ Wooden Tree with its miniature ornaments set up onto the kitchen counter.

Four Friday’s from now it will be Christmas Day – here’s to seeing how much can get done before the first one this week as the month is upon us!
