Mr Zip Vintage Novelty Items is our AnchoredScraps.com blog topic today with Mr. Zip US Mail Lunchbox, 1963 Mailbox Tin Bank, and Vintage Pinback Button.
From my June blog post last year on Mr. Zip – “In 2013, the Post Office re-introduced Mr. ZIP to stamps – celebrating the 50th anniversary of the ZIP Code system.”
Mr Zip Vintage Novelty Items
If you are looking for a collectible US Mail item it is fun to find so many Mr. Zip Vintage Novelty Items available on several sites including ebay, and etsy. Items ranged from Mr. Zip ceramic tile coasters, earrings, Tie Tack & Tie Clasp, flyers, and even a comic book from 1968!
There were these three items specifically to look at today:
The 1963 Mr. Zip US Post Office Mailbox tin bank Ohio Art Vintage Toy Advertising is shown upper left.
There were several condition levels offered of the U.S. Mail Lunch Box and Thermos, this image here is of a “Vintage Aladdin Post Office,US Mail Metal Lunchbox,Thermos-Unopened” with Mr. Zip still sealed in the original plastic wrap. While comparatively pricey it is is excellent condition.
And lastly there is the Vintage Pinback Button Pin of the USPS Post Office Mr. Zip.
Continuing from my June last year blog post – “Be sure to check out the Postal Museum Zip Code Campaign (On twitter@PostalMuseum) including its “other Mr. Zip appearances page.”
Thank you for joining me for today’s blog post.
Here’s to having fun with these novelty items!
