You will be thinking Christmas in October seeing this beautiful Florentine Madonna and Child Forever Stamp being issued today.
On this Tuesday, October 18th, the Forever Stamp First-Day-of-Issue Dedication Ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 PM Eastern. It will be at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum in Washington, D.C.
“Visualize Christmas with the glorious Madonna and Child painting gracing this holiday stamp, which unites people across history in a fond celebration of faith, hope, and love.
The original painting is located at the National Gallery of Art, Widener Collection.”

I’m going to have to do some planning and figure out a road trip to go to one of these Postal Service First-Day-of-Issue events in 2017. Stay tuned!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
