“Letters to John Glenn: P.S. I Listened To Your Heartbeat” by John Glenn

One can still find and order an old copy of the 1964 book “Letters to John Glenn: P.S. I Listened To Your Heartbeat” by John Glenn.

This evening I am saddened to learn of the passing today of Astronaut and former Ohio Senator John Glenn at age 95.

“I don’t know what you could say about a day in which you have seen four beautiful sunsets.” – John Glenn

That quote by John Glenn was in my February 20, 2016, blog post on the Project Mercury Stamp.  It was “the day on 1962 when John Glenn flew the Friendship 7 mission and became the first American to successfully orbit the Earth.  The stamp shown today is the 1962 4¢ Project Mercury Stamp and it was exciting to read its story of how the stamp was created in secrecy connected to the planned flight of the “Friendship 7” capsule.”

This evening I’ve placed an order for the book, “Letters to John Glenn: P.S. I Listened To Your Heartbeat”, it will be added it to my collection of letter writing books.

Growing up there was the U.S. space program with the call from John F. Kennedy to put a man on the moon, and watching live on tv Apollo 11 landing on the moon when in Junior High.

I’m closing this blog post with a scene from the movie “The Right Stuff”, with Ed Harris playing John Glenn, which gives a insight into his cherished marriage.
