The new four-stamp set in the USPS 2017 Christmas Carols Forever Stamps is depicting four Christmas Carols. They are debuting on October 5th.
Secondly, as we will be reading in today’s post these Christmas Carols stamps arriving in October are the only ones the USPS is planning for 2017.
In addition, there are previous Christmas stamps available including the Florentine Madonna and Child Forever Stamp and Nativity stamp from 2016. I’m therefore including the links to both of my blog posts on those stamps below.
Match the Christmas song with the “familiar lyrics from each song” on the stamp:
“Jingle Bells”,
“Deck the Halls”,
“Silent Night” and
“Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”
The First Day of Issue Ceremony with the USPS is planned during the American Stamp Dealer Association’s Fall Postage Stamp Show opening day in New York City.
Furthermore, in reading about it at Linn’s Stamp News we learn “… the four stamps in the Christmas Carols set are the only Christmas stamps being issued by the Postal Service in 2017, USPS officials told Linn’s Stamp News that the agency has additional holiday stamp inventory on-hand.”
The pricing at 49 cents each stamp with the four designs come in a booklet of 20 stamps. They are available for pre-ordering now.
In addition, for the details on how to order First-Day-of-Issue Postmark and First-Day Covers, click here, from the August 31, Postal Bulletin.
In conclusion, thank you for joining me today. Since I’ve now got the tunes of these Christmas Carols playing in my head, it is not too early to begin updating our Christmas Card list!

Helen
