Today’s blog is on a new site I’m enjoying, The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society – Every day’s a letter day. I love the genuineness of the site and am hoping you will check it out. To find another site all about letter writing is a lot of fun. It looks to be “over the pond” as the expression goes in the U.K.
Their first blog, Adventures in Letter Writing No. 1: Big Mistake? posting it on October 26, 2017. Having the first blog being on the 26th of the month is wonderful! If you are new to AnchoredScraps, my first blog post was on the 26th of February, 2015.
The most recent blog, Adventures in Letter Writing No. 35: Dinosaur meets dinosaur…, is from two days ago,
There is a MANIFESTO which I’m sharing the start and closing, encouraging us to go check it out in its entirety.
We believe that a handwritten letter is one of the loveliest, most personal things, anyone can receive. …
Finally, may your love of handwritten letters be forever ignited and rekindled.
Furthermore, another thing I really love about this site is that they have gotten started and are adding as they go along; They began blogging not waiting for everything to be perfect and got started anyway. This is something (the not waiting for perfection) I stress in my WordCamp presentations on Lessons Learned from Blogging..” An example of this is on the Join Here page it states “CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SETTING UP – PLEASE COME BACK SOON.” There are plans for a certificate, shiny badge, … “and a postcard-sized postcard (with envelope) to send to a friend!”
Have fun exploring this site. I’m in the process of requesting a true snail mail address from the site so I can send a proper welcome letter. Let’s hear a cheer for old-style correspondence letter writing!
