Two weeks from today the Marvin Gaye 2019 Forever Stamp is debuting on April 02.
“The stamp sheet is designed to resemble a vintage 45 rpm record sleeve.”
If the stamp is sounding familiar, there is mention of it as one of the stamps the USPS is issuing this year in my AnchoredScraps February 2019 Daily Blog Recap.
Over at Linn’s Stamp News, yesterday there was an article on it by Michael Baadke: Marvin Gaye honored April 2 on USPS Music Icons stamp.
Furthermore, I’m including this excerpt from the USPS site where the sheet of 16 stamps is available for pre-ordering now at the USPS Postal Store.
Marvin Gaye 2019 Forever Stamp Debuting April 02
“The newest stamp in the Music Icons series honors Marvin Gaye (1939-1984). Known as the “Prince of Soul”, Gaye was one of the most influential music performers of his generation.”
The stamp design features a portrait of Gaye inspired by historic photographs.”
I’m pre-ordering them so I’ll have on hand for my letter writing!
Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
