New USPS Earth Day Stamp 50th Anniversary

The New USPS Earth Day Stamp Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day is available online at the USPS website.

Although the issue date was earlier this week on April 18th, today marks the 50th Anniversary. The first observance of Earth Day was on April 22, 1970. If your budget will permit you’ll want to buy on back-order the Earth Day T-Shirt as it has a really neat feature, more on it below.

USPS Earth Day StampsThere are 20 stamps in the First-Class Mail Forever booklet of USPS Earth Day Stamps.  It is $11 for the booklet.

In addition, I’m seeing both the Earth Day t-shirt, and the set of coasters are on back-order.

About that Earth Day T-Shirt ($24.95), I was mentioning above.  You’ll notice the tag in the image I’m including.

“…comes with a collectible 3.31 in x 1.44 in cancellation fabric tag. Printed with art inspired by the Earth Day stamp, the double-sided tag includes an affixed Forever stamp canceled with an official First Day of Issue postmark.”

Furthermore, there is a First Day Cover and Digital Color Postmark available too at the USPS Postal Store.

Earth Day Digital Color Postmark

The Earth Day Digital Color Postmark ($1.70) and the Earth Day First Day Cover ($0.99) both include the opening sentiment “Honor the importance of protecting the environment with this new …”

The weather today has been glorious and perfect for working on my container garden I’m attempting this year for some vegetables. I’ll have more on it as the months unfold! Until tomorrow…
