The Backyard Games Forever Stamps celebrates Badminton, Bocce, Cornhole, Croquet, Flying disc, Horseshoes, Tetherball, and A variation on pick-up baseball. The stamp’s First Day of Issue was this past Thursday at the Great American Stamp Show.
In addition, there is a Pictorial Postmark available with today’s date of August 15, 2021. It is one of four pictorial postmarks by the American Topical Association who along with the American Philatelic Society and the American First Day Cover Society are Co-hosts.
Backyard Games Forever Stamps & Pictorial Postmark
Just last month, the July 1 Postal Bulletin 22575, includes their 21-26 announcement on the Backyard Games Stamps. At that link, it has the address for obtaining the First-Day-of-Issue-Postmark, with 120 days to do so by mail.
“With this issuance, the Postal Service™ celebrates the many games Americans play for outdoor recreation”
It comes in a pane of 16 – making it two each of the eight designs of the Backyard Games stamps First-Class Mail. Here is a link to the USPS Postal Store SKU 481204 Backyard Stamps. They are not available for buying individually, so it’s the whole pane making it $8.80.
As I was mentioning in my opening paragraph above the stamps are celebrating Badminton, Bocce, Cornhole, Croquet, Flying disc, Horseshoes, Tetherball, and A variation on pick-up baseball.
Furthermore, the address for requesting the Pictorial Postmark is here, and I’m listing it too.

One of the reasons I’m showcasing it is because of it having a Sunday date for a pictorial postmark, as they do not seem to be as commonplace to me.
Be sure to get them now before the upcoming postal rate increase coming on August 29, 2021!
You’ll want to check out the other newly released stamps
Lastly, while today’s focus is on the Backyard Games Stamps; you’ll want to check out the lineup of other new releases at the USPS Postal Store from this Summer. They include Missouri Statehood, Mid-Atlantic Lighthouses, Raven Story, Ursula K. Le Guin, Western Wear, Mystery Message, Tap Dance. And don’t forget Espresso Drinks from earlier in the sprint.
Here’s to enjoying the last half of August and summer Backyard Games prior to Labor Day and any “talk” of Autumn! See you back here on Wednesday!
