Thanks to VirtualStampClub, Linns Stamp News & Link.USPS.com

First of all, my thanks to the VirtualStampClub website, Linns Stamp News, and Link.USPS.com; their very recent posts on the new stamp releases arriving in 2022 I am referencing below.

It is really interesting to me the differences between those three articles.

Linns Stamp News November 4 article

With the Linns article, I am loving the thorough descriptions by Charles Snee. Although it includes the stamps in a slider at the top along with image descriptions I prefer not looking back and forth between the two areas. Additionally, I was not realizing the slider was containing all of the new stamps until circling back after reading all three articles.

Link Extra Nov 1 2021 article

Secondly, the Link article has more of a synopsis listing of the new stamps with much briefer descriptions. In addition, I LOVE their clickable image gallery at the bottom of the article.

If one clicks on any of them a large image pops up. It then is viewable as a slide show (slider) format. It includes descriptions at the bottom of each image.  Also, when looking at the gallery overview some of the images appear truncated. In putting together the collage for my blog it was only showing 19 of the 20 stamps.

Virtual Stamp Club November 1 article

This brings me to the third website at the VirtualStampClub; I was happy to see it including the elusive 20th stamp – the women cryptologists during World War II. Thereby completing the collage.  Their 2022 Stamp Program grid shows all of them.  It was afterwards, I was then noticing it is included with the Linns article slider too.

The result is I am happy with the collage I have put together. It shows full images of each stamp within their frames. I continue to find Canva a helpful tool for individually importing each image, and completing the collage.

It continues to be a delight exploring and learning about the upcoming stamps on the horizon in 2022!

In the next section I share with us each of the stamp images in groupings of five images each.

Upcoming 2022 USPS Stamp Releases

So what can we expect to see in 2022 with the new stamps?  The first grouping of five are as follows: Lunar New Year — Year of the Tiger, Blueberries,  U.S. Flags, Love, Butterfly Garden Flowers

Next, we have Edmonia Lewis, Mountain Flora, Eugenie Clark, Title IX, Sunflower Bouquet

The next grouping: Tulips, Pete Seeger, Women’s Rowing, George Morrison, National Marine Sanctuaries

Lastly, we have: Mighty Mississippi, Katharine Graham, Pony Cars, Elephants, Women  Cryptologists of World War II!

Probably the stamp I am most excited about is the one for the Women Cryptologists of World War II! A dear friend was reminding me of the book Code Girls, which has me remembering our post here on Old written letters & Code Girls by Liza Mundy, April 15, 2018.

What about you? Which stamp(s) are you most excited about seeing them on the horizon for 2022?

And under the category of "I Didn't Know They Had a Stamp for That!"

At the upcoming Chicagopex 2021 stamp show this week, there is a new United Nations Stamp Issue November 19, 2021 for World Toilet Day! The event is by the Chicago Philatelic Society, in their 135th year!

“Concluding the 2021 program will be a set of six stamps (55¢, $1.20, 1fr, 1.50fr, €0.85 €1) for World Toilet Day on Nov. 19. According to the United Nations, the day “celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.”

My thanks to stamp club buddy Jimmy Jordan for sharing the information with me earlier this week, seeing it over at Linn’s Stamp News.

Thanksgiving is Less Than Two Weeks Away!

With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, having a remembered awareness this stamps helps me add yet another item to my list of blessings and thankfulness.

In the year ahead, it is going to be fun to include news of these new stamps and others as they become available. Knowing these stamps are on the horizon, should we be doing any kind of planning ahead, KNOWING some of them may work out really well with stationery coordination is always something fun with it our letter writing.

As we wrap up, the hardback of the book , A Million Thanks by Shauna Fleming, 2005, I ordered arrived on Friday; I’ve been enjoying reading through it.

This Wednesday is my first A Million Thanks Letter Writing Social Event, November 17th, 2PM-4PM here in Wilmington, NC.  I’m really excited about the event!! Again, if you are in the area please drop by and see us!  Here’s to a great week ahead!
