This is the number that jumped out at me when reading about This day in history, October 17, 2015. “There are 75 days left in the year.” Today marks the 290th day of 2015. Thanksgiving is less than six weeks away!
Today we are celebrating “75” as our theme!
With it being Saturday and I usually think Saturday morning cartoons so starting off with this one:
Batman celebrated 75 Years (in 2014)
In 2014 The U.S. Postal Service: “Batman Honored by U.S. Postal Service to Celebrate 75 Years of the Timeless Super Hero“
The First Day of Issue for the Batman Forever stamps was October 9, 2014 and they are still available for purchase! There are eight limited edition Forever stamps. “The background illustration features a silhouette of Batman standing on a bridge with the skyline of Gotham City looming above him. The flip side of the sheet features two illustrations of Batman and text about the history of the character.”
Still on the Saturday morning cartoons so very happy to come across this one:
Superman celebrated 75 years (in 2013)
“The Postal Service issued the 39-cent DC Comics Super Heroes commemorative stamps in 20 designs in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of twenty stamps, on July 20, 2006” – including the 39Cent Superman.
And there is this of old classic movies with the theme of “75” – as in celebrating their 75th Anniversary this year I came across today:
From March 6, 2015 by Scarlet Biberstein @scarletmgross shares nine movies that turn 75 in 2015 including “The Shop Around the Corner” – this movie was blogged about me on March 23, 2015 “Making the time to write“.

Next is this list of people who Turn 75 this year:
“10 Surprising People Who Turn 75 in 2015”
From January 1, 2015: “10 Surprising People Who Turn 75 in 2015” (and 7 Who Won’t)” by Mr. Holznagel The list of some of the celebrities turning 75 this year include: Bugs Bunny “The erudite joker from Warner Brothers animation made his debut as a star in the 1940 short A Wild Hare.”; The Joker “Perhaps the most famous of all superhero villains, he appeared in Batman #1 in 1940. (Batman himself had appeared as a side character in another Detective Comic in 1939.)”; Gary Burghoff; Patrick Stewart; Alex Trebek; Roberta Flack; Sadaharu Oh; and Chuck Norris. And from the list at the end of that blog post of those who “would have turned 75 this year if they hadn’t moved on” includes John Lennon, Bruce Lee, and Richard Pryor.
And lastly I wanted to close with this book which I came across and have ordered a copy of it:
“75 Masterpieces Every Christian Should Know” (2015 Book)
There is a hardcover book coming out November 3, 2015 “75 Masterpieces Every Christian Should Know: The Fascinating Stories behind Great Works of Art, Literature, Music, and Film” by Terry Glaspey.
“Discover the absorbing true stories behind 75 masterpieces and the artists who created them. At his website it was very easy to order direct there and a signed copy was available by the Author which I selected.
