March Madness Basketball Postcards

Happy Friday with March Madness Basketball Postcards !

With March Madness underway I wanted today to look at these March Madness Basketball Postcards available at Redbubble.   I first mentioned them in my Laundry Postcards blog post back on February 19th.

March Madness Basketball Postcards

At Redbubble.com in their Stationery section they offer Greeting Cards & Postcards, Calendars, Spiral Notebooks, and Hardcover Journals.  There are several different NCAA Final Four March Madness Basketball Postcards and Greeting Cards shown.  Postcards for schools included Auburn, Duke, Kentucky, Ohio State, and Texas (I’ve listed here alphabetically!)

The link to Live Results  USA Today Bracket for 2016 NCAA Tournament Men’s shows Round 1 March 17-18, Round 2 March 19-20, Sweet 16 March 24-25, and Elite 8 March 26-27;  Final Four April 2, and Championship April 4th.  At that page they do state “View the current tournament results below, or sign in to see how your bracket is shaping up.”    There is time to still order and get a few March Madness Basketball Postcards into the mail to special family members and friends.

There are several US Stamps I came across celebrating basketball.  The one shown here is from 1991 by the US Postal Service celebrating Basketball Centennial.

“James Naismeth (November 6, 1861 – November 28, 1939) created the game of basketball in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1891. As a physical education instructor, he was assigned the task of developing a team sport that could be played indoors in the winter. The baskets used in the very first game were peach baskets, supplied by a janitor.”

The weather forecast here is calling for rain.  If you find yourself watching televised or in person basketball this weekend enjoy!

Join me tomorrow for my Saturday blog post.   And as a reminder now is the time to get your Easter cards into the snail mail – why not tomorrow?!  We are nearing a week away from Easter!

Anchors Aweigh,

Helen
