The Twenty Eight Annual DC Pen Show 2019 is this weekend. It is the “Largest Pen Event in the World” – the Washington DC Collectible Fountain Pen SUPERSHOW. Hallmark Free Card Friday continues today.
One of the benefits of blogging about the different fountain pen shows over the past four years is recognizing some of the names, and seeing some in previous blog posts here with writing today’s blog post.
There are several Tweets leading up to the DC Pen Show 2019 I’m sharing as a sampling of fountain pen offerings.
First, there is the Tweet from Sunday by Federalist Pens.

Over at pencentral.com/home, it includes the pdf can view on the “Pen World Article in April, 2019 issue about the Fountain Pen Supershow”. The location is the Marriott Fairview Park in Falls Church, Va.
In going through the DC Pen Show Seminar and Workshop Schedule 2019, there are several Calligraphy seminars by Nik Pang. Seminars include presentations by Nik Pang, Barry Gross, John Bedard, John Corwin, Lisa Vanness and Azzizah “Gourmet Pens”, Letizia Jacopini, Jon Veley, Maxim Stulov, Giovanni Santini, Gary Garner, Brian Goulet, Joshua Lax, Jim Marshall, and Paul Erano.
Furthermore, these items I’m wanting to include too.
- “Fountain Pens 101” Brian Goulet is a highlight of this year’s show and will discuss how to become interested in fountain pens, nibs, inks, and all topics of interest to the novice as well as the seasoned collector.
- “Paul Erano Author and founder of the black pen society will take on Collectible Fountain Pens
- “The Ink testing tables will be setup on Thursday and open 24/7 until late Sunday afternoon.”
- “The Fountain Pen Supershow Welcomes the Following Expert Craftsman who will be doing Pen Repairs and Nib Customization. Osman Sumer will be travelling from Germany.”
- “Dale Beebe’s new tools that he has developed and will introduce at the show.”
With all of the letter-writing, talk of handwriting letters, connecting via snail mail, the splurge of using a fountain pen I’m learning can be an everyday splurge.
