Merry Christmas! Hot Chocolate Wishes 2020 & it’s not too late…

This morning we have whimsical Hot Chocolate Wishes 2020 greeting us for Merry Christmas!  AND EVEN with Christmas just two days away, it’s not too late…

One of the sentiments I’ve been hearing on the telephone the past few days is wishing there was more time, along with almost resignation that the season got away … My message is it’s not too late….!

Merry Christmas! Hot Chocolate Wishes 2020 & it’s not too late…

This week, especially earlier in the week while wrapping presents, it has been finding me reaching for my Hot Chocolate (I love the packets by MRC, which is on their weight loss and maintenance plans).

Later this evening we will begin putting the tree up and decorating it. I’m recalling, from four years ago to the day almost, I wrote my blog post on The Bishop’s Wife Typewriter Scene (December 21, 2016). The 1947 movie stars Loretta Young, and David Niven with Cary Grant as an angel. (We will be watching it tomorrow). In the movie, it is Christmas Eve when they are decorating the tree.  It is encouraging to me to see that one does not have to have put their tree up since Thanksgiving! So my sentiment is it’s not too late!  Of course, I’m still working on Christmas cards, which will go out THIS YEAR!

This will be our first Christmas Eve to be at home since building this house in 2005 as we’ve always been away to be with family – with covid concerns this year we are staying home. Even in the midst of all this, and missing seeing everyone, we still have so much to be grateful for and celebrate Christmas.

I’m encouraging you to join me in having your own Christmas movie marathon! Yesterday Cooper and I watched “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. And it was “Christmas in Connecticut” we watched last weekend. So pull out those favorite Christmas DVD’s, put on the Christmas CD’s, (and yes, I know, some of you, it is a verbal command to a device in your home instead), whatever method you use, put on the music and movies, enjoy them! Keep wrapping, keep writing, and enjoy them pacing ourselves to be sure to enjoy being here right now.

If you do find yourself traveling this year, wishing you safe travels.  I’ll see you back here on Sunday. Here’s to a Merry Christmas 2020!
