If your upcoming weekend plans include being in Philadelphia check out the Philadelphia Pen Show 2017, January 13-15.
One of the delights for me is using fountain pens when letter writing. Making the time to write cursively with a fountain pen is right up there with getting out one of my manual typewriters and typing on my stationery a letter. It is a splurge of time that this year I’m looking to do more of with my letter writing. And, I’m wanting to add another fountain pen to my collection of four this year.
The Philadelphia Pen Show 2017 website looks fantastic for their upcoming pen show this weekend.
Its schedule offers some great education sessions. Seminars and Workshops include offering Beginner Italics Calligraphy, Cursive Handwriting, and two workshops for Spencerian to improve your penmanship; with a Pens for Kids Workshop listed too. In looking at the site it shows which sessions are taught by Deborah Basel or Michael Ward.
The list of the Philadelphia Pen Show Exhibitors has quite a line-up. I’m looking forward to further exploring the list as a fountain pen enthusiast! There is this 2017 schedule of Fountain Pen Shows in the U.S. at this website. It was previously included in my Fall 2016 Fountain Pen Show Schedule blog post.
It was just on Monday this week, that my daily blog post included having a YouTube from the movie “Rocky” with him running through the streets of Philadelphia!
Here’s to having fun dusting off our fountain pens and putting pen to paper. If you do not have a fountain pen yet, consider putting one on your wish list for your birthday this year and put the word out – perhaps in your next letter!
