2007 41c Star Wars Fleetwood First Day Cover

May the Fourth Be With You as we look at this 2007 41c Star Wars Fleetwood First Day Cover.

Before beginning, it was really sad yesterday learning of the passing of Peter Mayhew (age 74). I’m including the BBC News article link Peter Mayhew: Harrison Ford leads tributes to Star Wars’ Chewbacca actor.

The Smithsonian Postal Museum earlier today Tweeted this stamp from the 2007 Star Wars stamps set along with this message.

“May the Fourth be with you all! And may you rest in peace, dear Chewie. #maythefourth #maythefourthbewithyou #starwarsday #starwars #PeterMayhew © USPS; all rights reserved. © Lucasfilm Ltd. pic.twitter.com/DQtYfufitW— Postal Museum (@PostalMuseum) May 4, 2019”

The stamps were issued by the USPS on May 25, 2007. I’m remembering using these on my letters when writing friends, especially those known Star Wars enthusiasts!

“In 2007, the U.S. Postal Service issued a sheet of 15 stamps on a movie poster-like souvenir sheet to commemorate the blockbuster film, Star Wars.”

Over at Mystic Stamp, I’m seeing both the 2007 41c Star Wars stamps and Fleetwood First Day Cover and Cover Sets for sale (U.S. #4143). A set of the mint stamps are $21.50. The First Day Cover ranges in pricing from $18.25 to $54.95.
